Choosing a camera could not be easier, we've designed a site that you will beable to use and navigate around with great ease, viewing each camera model that you wish to or letting the site recommend a model for you.

Use one of the following methods:

  • Method 1. Select a model by sifting through our database and selecting a model.
  • Method 2. Select a model my searching for a model you've previouly researched
  • Method 3.Select a model using our "Expert system". Simply fill out the short questionairre and let the site generate a camera model to best suite your needs.

Leica has announced the new C-LUX 1, its rebadged version of the 6-megapixel Panasonic DMC-FX01. The ultra compact C-LUX 1 features a 28mm wide angle Leica DC zoom lens and a high sensitivity setting of up ISO 1600. It also incorporates built-in optical image stabiliser and is available in black and silver finish. Aside from minor styling and bundle differences it is exactly the same camera as the Panasonic model.

photo-i, in association with Canon, is producing a series of DVDs on digital photography. The first to be released is 'A guide to digital photography' showing you how to get the best results from your digital camera. The DVD contains a series of assignments and tutorials and pictures are manipulated in Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (from summer 2006 it will use Photoshop CS)

Olympus has announced a firmware update (version 1.2) for the E-500 (EVOLT) Four Thirds Sytem DSLR. The changes are a new menu function for exchanging the AEL/AFL and One-touch WB buttons, and an improvement in the exposure level of the built-in flash when using certain lenses.

Leica has today posted firmware update 1.2 for the ten megapixel Digital-Modul-R back for the R8 or R9 SLRs. This update includes improved image display, improved color, compatibility with 4 GB SD cards, compatibility with Mac OS X 10.3, improved Japanese menu and some bug fixes / optimizations. This update can be installed by simply loading the firmware file onto an SD card.
